Having the best and most appropriate cleaning and disinfection products for the food industry may not be enough to maintain the quality of products in this sector.

It is essential to put in place a system to identify, evaluate and control the hazards in which food can be compromised. We are talking about HACCP.

Quality, safety and guarantee

The Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) system first saw the light of day in the 1960s, although it was not until 1993 that it became mandatory in all types of companies involved in the food sector in one way or another, industries, shops, catering businesses…

We must be clear that this system guarantees the perfect condition of the food, whatever its process or handling, providing the client or consumer with the assurance that the product complies with the food safety levels required by current regulations in this respect.

Principles of HACCP

This system is based on seven principles:

  • Principle 1. Identify the hazards at each phase or step
  • Principle 2. Determine the critical control points for those hazards
  • Principle 3. Establish one or more critical limits
  • Principle 4. Establish a monitoring system for their control
  • Principle 5. Establish corrective measures
  • Principle 6. Establish procedures to verify that the system is working
  • Principle 7. Establish a system of documentation and record-keeping

It is clear that the monitoring of this system is a truly effective weapon in the prevention of any kind of health risk related to food.

Other standards

There are other quality standards, such as ISO 9001, which are perfectly applicable in a complementary way to HACCP, as well as the use of specific cleaning and disinfection products for the food industry, with their corresponding food safety requirements.

For your peace of mind, now is when we tell you that in Solimix we also have the FAMI QS certification (for the manufacture of premix and additives for animal feed) with which we know in depth all the requirements, standards, systems…, of quality, safety and guarantee that are required for the food industry, so you can trust our products and services.
