At Solimix we are specialists in the manufacture and industrial packaging of chemical products and other hazardous substances, both liquid and solid. In this sense, and in order to carry out the work with safety guarantees, it is essential to have specific facilities for the mixing and packaging of this type of products, such as those containing peracetic acid, hypochlorites, etc.
What criteria must packaging comply with in order for this type of product to be marketed? In the following lines, we offer the key points set out in the different European regulations on the classification, packaging and labelling of hazardous substances.
Contents tightly sealed to prevent leakage
Industrial packaging containing chemical substances must be designed and manufactured in such a way that no loss of contents is possible. In addition, both the container and the closure must be robust to meet basic maintenance requirements.
Packaging materials compatible with the substance
The materials with which we manufacture both the closures and the packaging containing the product must be compatible, so that they cannot be attacked by the contents or form dangerous combinations with the latter.
Security lock
Reusable closure systems must be designed in such a way that the container can be closed several times without loss of contents. In addition, substances classified as very toxic, poisonous or corrosive on the labelling must have a child-resistant closure as well as a tactile indication of danger.
Some recommendations
In the various state regulations, EU Member States may provide that packaging must be sealed with a tamper-evident seal when it is opened for the first time.
We would like to remind you that at Solimix we have more than 40 years of experience in the industrial packaging sector and we comply with all the technical and legal requirements in order to provide a quality service with safety guarantees for all our customers.
